Brahma is said to be the father of this Universe and everything that was created from it. But in reality, Brahma himself has originated from the from Lord Vishnu. So the process of creation of the everything begins with Lord Vishnu.
In order to have a spiritual insight on the creation of the Universe, one must refer to Matsya Purana. It gives us a beautiful understanding of the creation of the universe, humans, animals, plants, gods and demons.
However, it should be noted that the creation of the universe as per hindu ideology, is by far, the most scientifically acceptable compared to any similar sources.
Here I will try to explain why.
In the beginning, there was nothing in the universe. The was only darkness. When the time came for creation to begin, Vishnu removed the darkness and expaned into three. These three parts came to be known as Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. The first object that appeared was water and Vishnu slept on this water. Since nara means water and ayana means resting-place, Vishnu is accordingly also known as Narayana.
If a scientist tries the explain such a phenomena he would say that indeed, before the universe existed, time did not exist. And without time, nothing could be explained to exist. However, scientists also say that it is possible that subatomic particles existed before the universe was first created. Presently science boasts of Higgs Boson as the god partcle. It is possible that such particles were referred to as water which is life giving force to the universe.
In this water next appeared a golden (hiranya) egg (anda). The egg shone with the radiance of a thousand suns. Inside the egg, Brahma grew from the navel of Vishnu. The egg was golden. Garbha means womb, and since Vishnu appeared inside a golden egg, he is also known as Hiranyagarbha.
The particles created a massive power above itself which looked like a golden egg. Certainly, the power of a thousand suns condensed is truely massive.
For a thousand years Brahma stayed inside the egg. He then split the shell into two and emerged out. Heaven (svarga) was made from one half of the shell and the earth from the remaining half. All the land masses, the oceans, the rivers and the mountains, had been inside the egg in embryonic form. Brahma made them manifest.
It indicates that it probably took a long time for the energy of the primordial soup of the universe (called water here) to accumulate itself into this bright entity. However the split of the shell of the parent star into two halves is not clear, because modern science says that the big bang created this universe. But does it say anything about other universe?
The answer, as per current scientific knowledge is a YES. Modern Cosmology says that this universe is a part of a big wobbles in nothingness. That means the big bang is the splitting of the particles of the primordial soup of the universe into majorly 2 universes, One the universe we know, and the other universe which we do not know.
The other universe is different to our current universe. It could be same as our universe but can also be totally different. We do not have the slightest clue. But what we know is that we have BLACK HOLES scattered throughout the universe which act to balance the wobble on both the sides.
The centre of the black hole, is an experience of the nothingness before the creation of the universe, but if we cross over to the other side of the black hole, or existence will meet a a totally different set of reality to which our existence. It is like a fish who sees the outside world as an uninhabitable place to live, while we think we are comfortable here.
From the perception of the universe beyond the black hole, it would seem as another black hole drawing away matter. But that matter is just a negative vibration of the matter in our universe which actually nullify at that point creating nothingness.
Modern science says there are 2 types of holes in the universe, The Black Hole and the White Hole. White hole is a place from which vibrations resembling to our universe collide, which causes resonance and thus creation of matter.
Hindu philosophy also says that creation and destruction of universe forms one day of Brahma. So before the first big bang, there was possibly nothing, but subsequent universes could have been created in the later wobbles in the primordial soup of god particles in nothingness. What existed before the big bang? It's still an open question. Perhaps nothing. Perhaps another universe or a different version of our own. Perhaps a sea of universes, each with a different set of laws dictating its physical reality.
Thus it should be noted that our universe is also constantly changing or wobbling. It might sometime have identical density with other wobbles and that universe might have identical physics. But once the density changes, the gateway to the other universe gets closed due to difference in density.
Coming to the Matsya Puran, we should understand that creation Svarga universe is the equal and opposite reaction of the creation of our universe. The universe wobble and we wobble along with it, so we do not see any changes.
